Turn/tilt is a unique feature that allows any sash to have two opening options.
By turning the window or door handle to the top position the sash is engaged in tilt mode, allowing the window to tilt inwards at the top to create ventilation near the ceiling of the room. Windows can be left (securely) in the ventilation mode in all but the worst driving rain, allowing your home to breathe, with maximum efficiency, when required.
By turning the handle to a horizontal position, the sash is engaged in turn mode. This allows the window to turn as in a normal inward opening side hung situation for maximum ventilation. This inward opening action allows for the easy cleaning of upstairs windows.
With the handle in the downward position the window or door is completely sealed and locked in at least three places. sealed against a silicone/rubber seal and locked in at least three places, retaining warmth with maximum security.
