The thermal advantages they offer via the solid timber frame, compressed rubber seal and double glazing will greatly reduce the need for heating in the winter and cooling in the summer. Not only will this reduce your personal power consumption, but also that of the nation as a whole.
The choice of timber as the material for your joinery also has environmental benefits. Timber uses far less energy to produce than the huge quantities consumed to produce either aluminium or P.V.C. Timber is a natural, renewable resource.
At Heirloom Joinery, we are aware of environment and sustainability issues. When purchased from suppliers with sound environmental purchasing policies, timber is also a sustainable resource. As well as certified Western Red Cedar, we promote the use of NZ grown Thermowood and Accoya.
Timber joinery has a much longer lifespan than other types of joinery with simple maintenance.
